UL Creative Writing Festival 2022 will be held in May

UL Creative Writing Festival 2022 returns May 20-22, with a brilliant line-up of international award-winning writers including Roddy Doyle, Kit deWaal and Sarah Moore Fitzgerald.

The festival will see the launch of the 2022 edition of UL’s literary magazine, The Ogham Stone

Readers and book lovers will be delighted to hear that the 2022 UL Creative Writing Festival returns May 20-22.

The festival, which is an early summer highlight for readers, will feature a brilliant line-up of international award-winning writers, including Roddy Doyle, Kit deWaal and Sarah Moore Fitzgerald.

These acclaimed creative writers will share tips and insights on their journeys and careers as authors.

Festival-goers will be delighted to learn that readings by Roddy Doyle and Kit deWaal will take place, followed by a signing session.

Kevin Barry, author of “That Old Country Music” and the first writer to win an Edge Hill Award twice, will also make an appearance.

The 2022 UL Creative Writing Festival will also include poetry readings from Emily Cullen, Rachael Hegarty, Jane Clarke and many more.

In addition, the event will see the launch of the 2022 edition of UL’s literary journal, The Ogham Stone, as well as readings from UL’s “Creative Writers in the Community” module, led by Professor Eoin Devereux.

The Glucksman Library’s Special Collections and Archives Department is proud to offer a tour of its literary treasures to festival attendees.

The department collects and maintains special collections of rare books and Irish literary items. This is a great opportunity for book lovers to see such a special archive which includes books by Kate O’Brien, Maurice Walsh and many more.

These tours can be booked by email [email protected] and will allow those interested to discover some beautiful bindings from the collection, as well as very rare first editions.

All events will take place at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, and tickets for the weekend will cost 3 €5/ Reduced rate €20 and will include access to all events.

This is an unmissable event that allows avid readers to meet some of their favorite authors.
